A disturbance at a residence in the west end of the city recently led to charges for a local man.

Police report that on the morning of Friday, June 14, just after 8 a.m., police responded to the residence in question.

The complainant advised that their neighbour “had been yelling and screaming at them for no apparent reason.”

Officers then attended the suspect’s address to continue their investigation, where they learned that the same male had earlier been threatening to cause bodily harm to his female spouse.

As a result, police arrested and charged the 30-year-old Belleville resident for uttering threats and causing a disturbance in public. Police did not name the suspect. He was held for a bail hearing.
