Woman charged after driving away from hospital impaired: Belleville police

A call to the Belleville General Hospital led the Belleville Police Service to charge a woman with impaired driving on Thursday, Dec. 28.

A media release from police states that at around 3 p.m. on Thursday, dispatch received call advising that a female, who was believed to be intoxicated, had driven away from the Belleville hospital on Dundas Street East.

Officers located the vehicle described by the caller a short time later on Dundas Street.

Charged with impaired driving and having more than the legal limit of alcohol in blood is Marjorie Hilts, 33, of Tweed. Charges have not been proven in court.

She was released on an undertaking with a Feb. 8 court date.
