The unofficial start of summer is coming up this weekend, with the Victoria Day holiday happening Monday, May 20. Here’s a look at what’s open and closed, and what local services are affected, in Belleville. Do you know of something notable that’s open that should be added to this list? Retail

  • Walmart will be closed Monday, May 20
  • McDowell’s Your Independent Grocer will be closed Monday, May 20
  • Food Basics will be closed Monday, May 20
  • Metro will be closed Monday, May 20
  • Both Giant Tiger locations at Bridge Street West and the Millennium Parkway will be closed Monday, May 20
  • The Quinte Mall will be closed Monday, May 20
  • All LCBO and all Beer Store locations will be closed on Monday, May 20
  • Most Shoppers Drug Mart locations will be open throughout the weekend for regular hours, but some may vary on the holiday Monday. Click here to search store hours in Belleville.
  • The Dundas Square Rexall will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, May 20

Municipal Services

  • City Hall – Closed May 20.
  • Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre – Closed May 20. Special schedule May 18 & 19. For more information and to register, visit QSWC.ca.
  • Transit – Regular transit and mobility transit will NOT run on May 20.
  • Leaf & Yard Waste Depot – Closed May 20.
  • Thurlow Landfill – No change to regular public hours.
  • Glanmore National Historic Site – Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, with free admission for International Museum Day. Closed May 20.
  • Belleville Public Library – Closed May 20.
  • Community Archives – Closed May 20.
  • There will be no changes to curbside garbage, green bin, recycling or bulky items collection.
