What’s open and closed in Belleville on Canada Day – Monday, July 1?

The Canada Day long weekend is upon us, with a statutory holiday taking place Monday, May 20. Here’s a look at what’s open and closed, and what local services are affected, in Belleville. Retail

  • Walmart will be closed Monday, July 1
  • McDowell’s Your Independent Grocer will be closed Monday, July 1
  • Food Basics will be closed Monday, July 1
  • Metro will be closed Monday, July 1
  • Both Giant Tiger locations at Bridge Street West and the Millennium Parkway will be closed Monday, July 1
  • The Quinte Mall will be closed Monday, July 1
  • All LCBO and all Beer Store locations will be closed on Monday, July 1
  • Most Shoppers Drug Mart locations will be open throughout the weekend for regular hours, but some may vary on the holiday Monday. Click here to search store hours in Belleville.
  • The Dundas Square Rexall will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, July 1

Municipal Services

  • City Hall – Closed July 1.
  • Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre – Closed July 1. Customer service desk closed June 29, 30 and July 1.
  • Kinsmen Community Outdoor Pool – Open July 1 for a special schedule. Pre-registration is required. For more information and to register, visit QSWC.ca.
  • Transit – Regular transit and mobility transit will NOT run on July 1.
  • Leaf & Yard Waste Depot – Closed July 1.
  • Thurlow Landfill – No change to regular public hours.
  • Hazardous and Electronic Waste Depot – Closed June 29.
  • Glanmore National Historic Site – Closed July 1.
  • Belleville Public Library – Closed July 1.
  • Community Archives – Closed July 1.
