Trenton, Central Hastings residents facing firearms charges

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested two individuals in a firearms related case.

In a media release, police state that on Dec, 8, at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers responded to an after-the-fact report concerning an armed individual at Annwood Court, Trenton.

In response, the OPP’s Emergency Response Team, Tactics and Rescue Unit, along with the Quinte West Crime Unit, were dispatched to provide assistance. Subsequently, a search warrant was executed at a nearby location, resulting in the apprehension of two individuals.

Virginia MacDonald, aged 40 and a resident of Trenton, faces charges that include possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats, and pointing a firearm.

Lindsey Crane-Nielson, aged 35, from Central Hastings, has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Charges have not been proven in court.

Both accused have been released from custody pending their scheduled appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Dec. 28.
