In a response to a faulty sanitary sewer gasket, R.W. Tomlinson Limited has announced plans to conduct emergency repairs on Picton Main Street. The operation is scheduled to commence on Monday, Oct. 16, with the setup of essential equipment. Repair work will officially kick off at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, and is expected to conclude around 6 p.m. on the same day.

The repair process will be performed internally, eliminating the need for any excavation of the roadway. To facilitate the repair, the affected area will be cordoned off in the middle of the street. Traffic diversions will be implemented, directing vehicles into the parking lanes on both sides of Main Street. Strict traffic control measures will be in place to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians.

Motorists are advised to steer clear of the construction zone and seek alternative routes where possible. Heavy equipment will be deployed, potentially limiting visibility in the vicinity. Additionally, elevated noise levels are anticipated throughout the duration of the repair process.

For more information and inquiries regarding the repair operation, concerned individuals can contact the County of Prince Edward at 613.476.2148 ext. 1023 or 613.962.9108 ext. 1023. Alternatively, they can reach out via email at info@pecounty.on.ca.
