Three face drug, weapons charges after OPP search in Trenton

Three people are facing drug and weapons charges after Ontario Provincial Police seized more than 80 grams of suspected cocaine, a firearm and a crossbow during a search of a Trenton residence.

Members of the OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit, Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit and Quinte West Detachment executed a search warrant at a residence on George Street at about 6:40 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27, according to a Monday, Aug. 31 media release.

The search was conducted as part of an ongoing investigation, police say.

Police say officers seized a .22-calibre firearm, a crossbow, Canadian currency, more than 80 grams of suspected cocaine and other items police allege are associated with drug trafficking.

The below charges have not been proven in court.

As a result of the investigation, Andrea Pelrine, 30, of Campbellford, was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance, opioid other than heroin
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance, other drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule II substance, other drugs
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 in Canada
  • Failure to comply with a probation order
  • Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, six counts

Zackary Dixon, 30, of Quinte West, was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance, opioid other than heroin
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance, other drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule II substance, other drugs
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 in Canada
  • Failure to comply with an undertaking, four counts

Tara Dixon, 53, of Quinte West, was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance, opioid other than heroin
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance, other drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule II substance, other drugs
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 in Canada

Police say Tara Dixon was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville at a later date, while Pelrine and Zackary Dixon were held for bail hearings.
