Residents and visitors alike can “get into the festive spirit” by meandering through a new holiday market coming to Quinte West.

The City of Quinte West is launching the Quinte West holiday market at the pop-up booths in Centennial Park, located at 12 Couch Cres. in Trenton. The Quinte West holiday market runs from Friday, Dec. 1 to Sunday, Dec. 3. The event offers market-goers the chance to shop with local artisans and crafters and take in holiday cheer at the same time — in the city’s flagship park, Quinte West noted.

“We are thrilled to host the Quinte West holiday market at the Centennial Park pop-ups,” said Jennifer Rushlow, Quinte West tourism development officer.

“The city looks forward to bringing the community together for this festive experience. The market provides an opportunity for our local artisans and vendors to showcase their talents and creates a wonderful holiday atmosphere for residents and visitors to enjoy.”

The holiday market offers unique shopping and dining experiences, Quinte West added.

In addition to shopping and eating, visitors can take part in free family festivities throughout the weekend.

“The Quinte West holiday market is an excellent opportunity for local Quinte West businesses and artisans to sell their products during the holiday season,” said Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison.

“The market invites residents and visitors to delight in the holiday magic of the pop-up’s wood cabins, and (to) mark their calendars to return for the pop-ups in summer 2024.”

The family festivities include:

-Visiting and taking a picture with Santa Claus

-Partaking in winter-themed crafts and activities

-Listening to live music and entertainment

-Decorating cookies, playing games, and more.

Children can visit Santa’s “secret shop” at the holiday market to purchase a pre-wrapped gift for a loved one. Purchases made at Santa’s secret shop raise money for the Trenton Rotary Club and Community Living Quinte West.

Donations to the Quinte West Tree of Warmth will also be accepted during market hours. Market visitors are invited to drop off all sizes of new mittens, gloves, winter hats, scarves, and socks, for donation to local Quinte West partners serving the community this winter.

The Quinte West holiday market hours are:

-Friday, Dec. 1 from 4 to 9 p.m.

-Saturday, Dec. 2 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

-Sunday, Dec. 3, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
