Quinte West resident remains in custody after Frankford weapons call

A Quinte West resident has been charged after police responded to a report of someone brandishing what appeared to be a firearm in a public place in Frankford.

Quinte West OPP say officers were called to the area at approximately 11 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27.

Officers located the suspect and took him into custody without incident, according to a Saturday, Aug. 29 media release.

Police say the object was later identified as an imitation weapon.

“I can confirm that [the incident] occurred outside of a business,” the OPP’s Sgt. Erin Cranton confirmed for Quinteist.

Dylan Wilson, 34, of Quinte West, was charged with:

• Possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Carrying a concealed weapon
• Two counts of failing to comply with a release order

Charges have not been proven in court.

Police say the suspect remains in custody.
