Quinte West resident facing multiple charges after car collides with house on Old Highway 2

Charges have been filed in connection with a car vs. house motor vehicle collision investigation by the OPP at the Quinte West Detachment.

On Sept. 26, around 12:30 p.m., law enforcement officers responded to a motor vehicle collision on Old Highway 2 in Quinte West.

Police say one individual was apprehended at the scene, while another fled before the police arrived. To aid in the search, the OPP’s Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit were dispatched, but the search concluded without locating the individual.

Scott Comeau, a 33-year-old resident of Quinte West, is facing the following charges:

  1. Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  2. Possession of property obtained by crime
  3. Failure to comply with a probation order

Charges have not been proven in court.

The accused has been remanded in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
