Quinte West OPP investigates hit-and-run involving construction worker

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has launched an investigation into a hit-and-run incident in Quinte West, where a construction worker sustained injuries.

According to OPP, on Wednesday, Jul. 3, 2024, at approximately 8:30 a.m., workers were using flags to control traffic flow at the intersection of Foxboro-Stirling and Wallbridge Loyalist Roads, due to ongoing maintenance work.

A vehicle, identified as a Black Dodge Ram without license plates, allegedly disregarded signals and struck a construction worker. The injured worker was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the collision, the vehicle fled the scene and was last observed heading southbound on Wallbridge Loyalist Road.
