Investigation underway following sudden death at Sandbanks Provincial Park

Police are probing a sudden death incident at Sandbanks Provincial Park after emergency services responded to a distress call on Saturday, Jul. 6, 2024.

At around 4:45 p.m., emergency medical teams rushed to Outlet Beach within the park following reports of an unresponsive individual found in the water.

The victim, identified as a 66-year-old woman, was transported to hospital but was pronounced deceased upon arrival.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing. A postmortem examination has been scheduled to ascertain the cause of death.
