A local woman has been charged with mischief by the Belleville Police Service after going door-to-door in a west end apartment building seeking alcohol.

Police explain in a media release that on April 4, at about 10:30 a.m., officers were called to the building regarding a female who was said to be causing a disturbance inside the building.

Police spoke to onsite staff and residents of the building and learned that a female, dressed in only a hospital gown, has been travelling from floor to floor, kicking and banging on multiple doors in an attempt to obtain alcohol. Police located the 45-year-old Belleville resident still in the building going from floor to floor.

The woman confirmed that she was seeking alcohol and even asked if police could provide her with any.

As a result of the investigation, she was arrested and charged with mischief. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.
