Doors Open Belleville returns with 22 sites to explore this September

Doors Open Belleville is set to return this September, inviting residents and visitors to explore and learn the history of the city’s buildings and historic sites.

Organized by Heritage Belleville, an advisory committee of the City of Belleville, visitors will have access to 22 participating sites. Many of the sites are not regularly open to the public, but on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, they’ll be free to visit, as shared by organizers in a City of Belleville press release, issued on Monday, Aug 10, 2026.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (hours vary by location), the sites will be open and volunteers will be on hand to share information about the building’s history and architecture.

The day is part of Doors Open Ontario, presented in partnership with the Ontario Heritage Trust. Belleville has been participating since 2002, according to the release.

“Doors Open Belleville is a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors to experience the history, culture and character that makes our community and the Quinte region so special,” said Mayor Neil Ellis.

“We are proud to showcase these unique spaces and invite everyone to discover the stories behind some of the places that have helped shape our community.”

  • Ameliasburgh Heritage Village
  • Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans in Canada, Duke of Edinburgh Unit
  • Belleville City Hall
  • Belleville Fire Station No. 1
  • Children’s Safety Village
  • Community Archives of Belleville and Hastings County
  • Corby Park Rose Garden
  • Glanmore National Historic Site
  • Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment Museum
  • Islamic Society of Belleville
  • Masonic Lodge
  • Meyers Creek Brewing Company
  • Mission Thrift Store
  • Parrott Riverfront Trail
