Community invited to ‘shop local’ in Trenton’s first annual Women Inspiring Women event celebrating female entrepreneurship

With vendor tables almost sold out, the Women Inspiring Women event on May 25 is aiming have something for everybody. The event will celebrate female entrepreneurship, and serve as an opportunity to shop local and support your neighbours.

The first annual event will celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit and the power of women supporting women between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Community Gardens in Trenton.

Vendors will showcase everything from artwork to handmade goods to local services and offerings.

Marylou Frost organized the event, which aims to spotlight women in business while also contributing to a noble cause.

“One of the distinctive aspects of the event is its philanthropic focus. All proceeds generated from ticket sales and donations will be directed toward the Loyalist College Bursary Foundation,” Frost explained.

“[These funds will] specifically benefit a deserving female student entering the Business and Marketing Program at Loyalist College in the fall of 2024. This noble initiative underscores the commitment to supporting women’s education and empowerment in the field of business,” Frost said.

She also emphasized the importance of community support, particularly the importance of women uplifting each other in the realm of entrepreneurship.

“I believe in the power of collective support and collaboration,” Frost said.
The event will feature a lineup of inspirational speakers and successful businesswomen eager to share their journeys to success. Attendees will garner insights, inspiration, and motivation from these accomplished individuals and learn from their experiences and achievements.

This mega networking event aims to also serve as a community networking and support platform. There will be something for everyone, both in tangible means and in knowledge and support.

Entrepreneurs are encouraged to network and connect with like-minded individuals. Attendees will be able to learn about local offerings and established business owners. Aspiring entrepreneurs can gather valuable advice and guidance for their entrepreneurial endeavours.

As the anticipation builds for the First Annual Women Inspiring Women event, organizers and participants alike are gearing up for, “A day filled with inspiration, empowerment, and camaraderie,” Frost explained.

Frost invites female business owners interested in showcasing their products and services to participate in the event. Tables are available for rent, allowing vendors to exhibit their offerings and share their success stories with attendees.
