The Belleville Police Service reports that on March 4, at approximately 2:15 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance call at a Dundas Street East business. The disturbance was reportedly caused by an employee who had been suspended from work but refused to vacate the premises, resulting in a disruption of operations.

Upon arrival, police identified the individual as Cherie Brown, a 53-year-old resident of Belleville.

During her interaction with police, Brown allegedly attempted to access a small knife she possessed. As a result, she was arrested and faces charges of causing a disturbance and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Charges have not been proven in court.

Brown was transported to the Belleville Police Service for processing. She was released on an Undertaking, with a scheduled court appearance set for March.
