Belleville woman arrested after throwing bottles at children

Belleville Police have arrested and charged a local woman after she was allegedly observed throwing bottles at children.

“On the 3rd of July at 1:55pm, Belleville Police responded to the area of College Street East and Cannifton Road regarding a female who was causing a disturbance and throwing bottles at children while walking down the street,” Belleville Police said in a press release regarding the incident.

“Police attended the area and located 52-year-old Tamara Dentstedt of Belleville,” police continued.

According to police, the woman known to police and known to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court held by the Belleville Police Service.

On the strength of that outstanding warrant, Dentstedt was arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service where she was held for bail.
