Belleville residents can expect some traffic delays as the City completes some sanitary sewer upgrades on Church Street and Cannifton Road.

The project on Church Street involves replacing about 100 meters of sanitary sewer lines between Dundas Street East and Bridge Street East. It includes reconnecting existing sewer laterals and conducting full-depth asphalt repairs.

On Cannifton Road, the work includes replacing two brick sanitary manholes in the old two-lane section south of College Street East. Additionally, repairs will be made to the sanitary sewer main with reinstatement of granular base and hot mix asphalt.

Construction on Church Street is set to begin this month and is expected to wrap up by the end of August. Meanwhile, work on Cannifton Road is scheduled to start in August and finish by fall.

During these projects, traffic on both streets will be reduced to one lane. Parking will likely be unavailable in the Church Street project area throughout the construction period.
