The stolen items were reportedly from a December 19, 2023, break and enter where $20,000 worth of construction tools were stolen from a construction site on Dundas Street East in Napanee.

Lennox & Addington County OPP Detachment Provincial Constable Dave Yome emphasized the importance of safeguarding your belongings, stating, “Ensure the safety of your possessions by either securing them or keeping them out of sight. Stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity to the police.”

In the release, the OPP noted that while the Lennox & Addington County detachment experienced a slight increase in minor thefts in 2023, they’d like to “turn the tide in 2024 by heightening awareness and implementing proactive measures.”

“Together, by securing our valuables and supporting one another, we can reverse this trend and send a message that our community stands united against theft,” Yome said.
