Belleville police respond to collisions on North Front Street, Farnham Road over weekend

Belleville police responded to two collisions over the weekend, one involving a vehicle colliding with a business, and another that led to a careless driving charge for local a teen.

Just after 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 24, the Belleville Police Service responded to a call reporting a vehicle collision with a business establishment on North Front Street. Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle that had made contact with the wall of the business, resulting in a window breaking. Police say that the collision occurred at a low speed, and fortunately there were no reported injuries. Following an investigation, authorities determined no charges were warranted.

Then on Feb. 25, just after 9 p.m., police and emergency medical services (EMS) were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Farnham Road involving two vehicles. Police say both vehicles sustained significant damage, leading to the temporary closure of the roadway. Two individuals were transported to BGH with minor injuries, while a third person was assessed and cleared at the scene by EMS. Neither vehicle was operable and both required towing. As a result, a 19-year-old Belleville resident was charged with Careless Driving and issued a Provincial Offence Notice.
