Police in Belleville are looking to identify two suspects – one male and one female – after an elderly woman reportedly had her wallet stolen while out shopping.

Police say that on Oct. 5, between 9:30 and 10 a.m., the woman was shopping at a business on Millennium Parkway when she was targeted by two suspects.

She reported that she had placed her purse in the top section of her shopping cart, when the female suspect started up a conversation about a product in the store. Meanwhile, the male suspect allegedly reached into the victim’s purse and stole her wallet, which contained cash, personal ID, gift cards and banking cards.

Following the theft, both suspects exited the store and departed in a red or burgundy vehicle similar to a Hyundai or Toyota.

The female suspect was reported to speak with an unknown accent.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspects is requested to contact Cst. Hadley at ehadley@belllevilleps.ca.
