Belleville police looking for suspect(s) after at least 10 vehicles with slashed tires reported

Belleville Police are investigating a string of tire slashings in the city, which reportedly occurred between March 30 and April 5.

Police say tires were slashed on the following dates and times:

March 30 – 31: One vehicle was reported damaged while parked overnight in a commercial parking lot on the corner of Bell Boulevard and North Park Street.
March 31 – April 1: Two vehicles had slashed tires overnight – one while parked in a commercial parking lot on the corner of Bell Boulevard and North Park Street, and one on McFee Street.
Between March 28 and April 1: Two vehicles had slashed tires while parked at a commercial parking lot on Cannifton Road near Adam Street.
April 4 – 5: Five locations reported vehicles with slashed tires, including the same lot parking lot on Bell Boulevard at North Park Street, three vehicles on Charles Street, and one vehicle on Baldwin Street.

Police are looking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in the mischief.

“The outer layer of clothing worn by the suspect appears to have a very distinctive emblem or pattern,” police say in a media release, providing the above photo.

Anyone with information regarding the mischief to vehicles or who can assist in identifying the suspect in the above photo is asked to contact Cst. T. Police are also encouraging residents and business owners in the identified areas to review any video they may have which may assist police in identifying the suspect.
