Belleville police looking for suspect in bicycle hit-and-run that sent woman to hospital

A 65-year-old woman was taken to hospital after being struck by a bicycle while walking on a sidewalk in Belleville on Friday, April 19.

In a media release, the Belleville Police Service says that at about 9:30 p.m. on Friday, the woman was struck in the area of 59 North Front Street. She “sustained physical injuries and was transported to the Belleville General Hospital.”

Police say the driver of the bicycle fled the area. They are described as wearing dark clothing and possibly having “salt and pepper” coloured hair.
