Belleville police investigating hit-and-run collision

A hit-and-run collision on North Front Street, near Grove Street, Thursday evening has prompted a police investigation into the responsible motorist.

The Belleville Police Service reports that at approximately 9 p.m., authorities received reports of a collision on the heavily trafficked road. Upon arrival, officers discovered one vehicle at the scene, while the other involved vehicle had reportedly fled without halting post-accident.

The motorist who remained at the scene managed to capture images of the fleeing vehicle, including its license plate. The vehicle was located parked in a driveway on Yeomans Street shortly after the incident. Police engaged with a male individual believed to be the driver.

Const. Jeremy Ashley told Quinteist that no charges have yet been laid in this matter, and the investigation is ongoing.
