Belleville Police investigating death after Ridley Street shooting

Belleville Police are reporting a suspected homicide that took place on Ridely Street early in the morning of Monday, Sept. 18.

Police say that at about 3:20 a.m. on Monday, they responded to an address on Ridley Street regarding a shooting incident. Upon arrival, police located a deceased male who had been shot. The deceased remains unidentified.

The Belleville Police Forensic Identification Unit continue to process the scene for evidence. The investigation is being continued by the Belleville Police Criminal Investigations Division.

Members are in the process of attempting to identify the deceased. No arrests have been made. Police believe that this was an isolated incident and that there is no threat to public safety.
