The Belleville Police Service is investigating after a victim had their handbag stolen by suspects said to be carrying weapons.

Police explain that on June 27, at about 9:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Pinnacle Street and Bridge Street East after a robbery was reported.

Police learned that the victim was approached by two male suspects, each of whom produced weapons. The victim believed one weapon was a BB gun and the other a flare gun.

“The suspects stole the victim’s handbag and made off without inflicting any injuries to the victim,” the media release reads.

One of the suspects was described as a male wearing a white t-shirt and having short hair. Police did not give a description of the second suspect in the release.
