A grocery cart combined with a family dispute and alcohol lead to charges in Belleville over the weekend.

In a media release, the Belleville Police Service says officers were called to a disturbance in the city’s north end at around 3 p.m. on the afternoon of Sunday, June 23, by a man who claimed he had been attacked by a family member.

Police say that after investigating, officers determined the initial caller was intoxicated, and during an altercation used a grocery cart to damage a nearby vehicle.

He was arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service, where he was charged and held until sober.

Travis Graham, 33, was charged with a single count of mischief; this charge has not been proven in court. He was released on conditions with an August court date.
