Belleville man accused of using another’s credit card, charged with fraud

A Belleville man was charged with fraud after allegedly using another person’s credit card that was lost at a restaurant.

In a media release, police say that on April 14, a citizen was dining out at a local restaurant. Following their meal, they paid the bill and departed the restaurant.

Police explain that at some point while in the restaurant, the patron lost their credit card but they did not realize it.

Gary Switzer, a 34-year-old Belleville man, is accused of coming into possession of the credit card and using it at various locations.

Police were notified and began to investigate the transactions. Police say they obtained video of Switzer using the credit card and were able to identify him.

As a result, he was arrested and charged with fraud. He was released on an undertaking with a court date in May.
